Based on our belief that the perspective of the client is the lens through which everything should be examined, we help financial planners and advisors define a comprehensive and consistent client experience and then market that experience in clear, client-friendly language. Most importantly, we help our clients respond with confidence to that key question, “How are you different?”
Since founding Pathfinder Strategic Solutions in 2009, Adam and I have focused on helping financial planners and advisors define or redefine their business vision, core beliefs, client experience, and (my personal favorite) marketing communications & strategies. We also guide our clients in areas such as business planning & implementation; team development; and business model transitions.
Prior to launching Pathfinder, I was managing director of the Practice Consulting Group at Loring Ward. There I created the firm’s Structured Practice website, led the development of all advisor conferences and regional forums, and provided individual consulting and coaching to our independent advisor-clients.
While at Wachovia Securities, I helped develop the Practice Management Consulting Group, and later became director of FA Best Practices. I led the development of many initiatives in support of advisors including the practice management website and the popular advisor development program Work Smarter, Live Better: Mastering the Business of Advice. I also created and published the Financial Advisor’s Guide to Teams.
Having begun my career as a financial advisor with Dean Witter in St. Louis in 1984, I built my own planning-oriented practice before partnering with another CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional to form a successful team. After joining Prudential Securities in 1997, I became branch manager in Knoxville, TN, and then complex manager in Destin/Pensacola, FL before PSI’s merger with Wachovia.
I earned my B.A. in Education from The University of Akron, Master of Arts in Biblical Studies from Covenant Seminary, and have been a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certificant since 1987. Most recently, I completed requirements for the Certified Kingdom Advisor® designation.
Active in the East Tennessee chapter of the Financial Planning Association and my church, I volunteer as the regional finance specialist for Delta Gamma Fraternity, advising 19 chapters in 6 states.
My husband and I live in Knoxville near our son, daughter-in-law and two very special grandchildren.

Adam joined Pathfinder Strategic Solutions in October 2009 after three years as a financial advisor at Wachovia Securities/Wells Fargo Advisors. He was a member of a multi-advisor, $1.3 million team at Wachovia Securities/Wells Fargo Advisors, where he helped the team develop procedures to create a more comprehensive, consistent client experience.
He began his career at Experian, the global information and analytics company. Adam spent over ten years at Experian, primarily as a senior strategy consultant, helping major financial institutions manage their credit risk policies using credit scores and strategies. He also developed a data quality consulting practice to assist companies in auditing their data assets.
Adam holds a B.A. in Economics with a concentration in marketing from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He lives in Knoxville, Tennessee with his wife and two children and enjoys photography and playing drums and percussion.
I believe that effective communication, relationship management and getting things done are the most important factors to successful professional relationships.
Bringing a wealth of organizational and operational knowledge as well as 22 years of industry experience to our team, I joined Pathfinder Strategic Solutions in September 2016 and manage the marketing and social media for our business.
Before retiring from Morgan Stanley, I was the registered marketing director for a top, multi-advisor team in their downtown San Diego branch. My ability to recognize client operational needs before problems arose and troubleshoot efficient solutions resulted in the superior level of service our clients came to expect and led to my leadership role on the team and at the firm.
I live in beautiful San Diego with my husband Wes, and enjoy our children, our wonderful grandchildren and our many dogs!
